Juanita Gardine participated in the Crucian Christmas Festival Children's Parade on Friday, January 3, 2025. They had a total of 61 students participating. The school's theme was "Fantasy beneath the Sea". The students wore colorful costumes which represented various wildlife creatures found in the Caribbean Sea. Their dedication and hard work paid off when they were announced winners for the over 50 segment.
Ms. Cherise C. Davis, a proud graduate of St. Croix Educational Complex is an 11-year veteran of the teaching profession and a 3rd-grade teacher at Juanita Gardine PreK-8 School. A product of the Virgin Islands public school system, she discovered her love for teaching in high school and has since dedicated her career to fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning in her students.
Today, in honor of National School Nurse Day, the Virgin Islands Department of Education proudly recognizes and celebrates the invaluable contributions of school nurses.
School nurses are far more than healthcare providers, they are compassionate caregivers, tireless advocates, and essential members of our educational community. They support the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of our students, helping them stay healthy, safe, and ready to succeed in the classroom and beyond.
The Virgin Islands Department of Education is proud to share that a group of exceptional students from the Jobs for America’s Graduates Virgin Islands (JAG-VI) program recently represented the Territory at the prestigious National Career Development Conference (NCDC) held in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Virgin Islands Department of Education (VIDE) announces the opening of its competitive grant application process for the Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC). The VIDE is now accepting subgrant proposals from Virgin Islands Government agencies, non-governmental agencies to include non-profit community groups, and faith-based organizations interested in providing high-quality educational and enrichment programs in both the St. Thomas-St. John and St. Croix Districts.
The Department of Planning and Natural Resources announces that pursuant to Virgin Islands Rules and Regulations, Title 12, Chapter 21, Section 904-9 meetings of the St. John Committee of the Virgin Islands Coastal Zone Management Commission have been scheduled to begin on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. This meeting will be held via the video conferencing platform Zoom.

Congratulations to the winners of Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett's Black History Essay Contest- 2025. The entries were all awesome and the students did a phenomenal job with their essays/poems and art.
Each student will be recognized with a Congressional Certificate and prize at the VI History Month Program on St. Thomas on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the Prior Jollek Hall at Antilles School from 4:00 pm -6:00 pm and on St. Croix on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at the Legion Hall in Frederiksted from 5:00 pm -7:00 pm.
